CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Advanced Skin Rejuvenation

About This Treatment

CO2 laser resurfacing is one of the most FDA-cleared lasers in aesthetic medicine, but the results and the safety depend far more on the clinician behind the laser than on the laser itself. As an advanced nurse practitioner trained in high-acuity, intensive clinical settings, I bring the precision and judgment to customize every treatment to your skin rather than relying on a single default setting.

That training matters most when it comes to skin type. Many providers limit or avoid ablative CO2 treatments for deeper skin tones because of the higher risk of pigment changes. My advanced training allows me to safely treat all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI), carefully tailoring laser parameters to protect your skin and your results.

The fractional CO2 laser works by creating microscopic channels in the skin, triggering your body's natural healing response and stimulating collagen production. The result is brand new skin, aligning with our regenerative tissue brand, where you have softer transitions, less depth to wrinkles, lines, and scars, and a brighter appearance at every angle.

CO2 Resurfacing Can Address:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars and surgical scars
  • Sun damage and age spots
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Skin laxity and enlarged pores

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the different treatment levels?

Cool Peel has 1-2 days of redness and a gritty feeling. Mild treatments need 3-5 days of redness, swelling, pigment darkening, and sandpaper texture. Moderate takes 5-7 days of the same. Aggressive treatments require 14 days downtime with potential redness lasting 4 weeks and scabbing.

Do I need to prep my skin before treatment?

Yes, we require 6-week preparation using ZO protocol with tretinoin (minimum 0.1%) or ZO retinoids. Patients with darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick 3-6) also need 4 weeks of hydroquinone pre-treatment for safety.

When will I see results?

Initial results are visible once healing is complete. Collagen continues building for 3-6 months, with continued improvement over time. Results typically last several years with annual maintenance.

What happens during the procedure?

We numb each area with a medicated numbing agent for 45 minutes to an hour. After thorough cleansing, treatment areas are mapped and a cooling device provides additional pain control during the procedure.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, scabbing, peeling, and dryness. Rare complications may include pigment changes, scarring, or infection. We minimize risks through proper preparation and aftercare protocols.
